The Classic Concerts Cruise has operated most years since its inception in 1995. This cruise features exclusive concerts of classical music and other related events which we present during the course of our cruise. The cruise is operated by The Cruise Specialists in association with Brisbane classical broadcaster 4MBS Classic FM, and our concerts are available only to people booked through this agency. Our activities include concerts of classical music, music quizzes, music appreciation talks and screenings of opera and ballet. Our musicians are professional musicians, usually from a major orchestra. Also includes are private cocktail parties and an on-board credit of $50.00 per person in lower-bed accommodation. In our 2010 cruise, we feature the Goldner String Quartet let by Dene Olding, concertmaster of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Also featured will be Max Olding and Pamela Page, both professional pianists, who performed during our 2008 Classic Concerts Cruise. They are well-known in Brisbane, and are Dene Olding's parents. We are indeed fortunate to be able to feature them together in our program. Our compere is Gary Thorpe OAM, general Manager of radio 4MBS Classic FM in Brisbane. The cruise sails in SUN PRINCESS from Sydney on 01 October 2010, and will visit ports in the South Pacific during a 12-night itinerary. Ports include Isle of Pines (New Caledonia), Lifou (Loyalty Islands), Vila (Vanuatu), Wala (Loyalty Islands), Champagne Bay (Vanuatu) and Noumea (New Caledonia). Fares start from $2820.00 (AUD) per person in inside twin or double-bed cabins, including taxes and port charges. We hold an allocation of cabins in SUN PRINCESS, and we recommend early booking to avoid disappointment. Contact us for further information. |
